My Approach
None of us escape this world without wounds. At one point or another we all feel hurt, afraid, overwhelmed, numb, or disillusioned at what our life has become.
Maybe you’ve experienced a glaring loss or event that has changed your life forever. Maybe you have a small, nagging feeling that something isn’t right. Maybe you’re completely exhausted and at the end of your rope.
My job is to help you understand your story and integrate your unique experiences so you can feel at home in your body, in your mind, and in your relationships. I do this by taking a collaborative, trauma-informed, and holistic approach to counseling. I am trained in a highly effective trauma treatment called EMDR, and use other treatment modalities including Attachment Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Most people seek therapy to feel better. I will equip you with practical skills while we work to find the root cause and heal deeper wounds. I believe that that the brain is capable of healing if provided the space in a safe relationship.
As a licensed counselor, I seek to learn more through trainings and consultation. As a fellow human being, I prioritize my own counseling work. I will not ask you to go somewhere that I have not been before in my own process.
“My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.”
